Alterations in position and testicle descent
Disorders in the genitals in children are not uncommon. Incorrect testicle positioning is called cryptorchidism, and in such cases the testicle is not situated inside the scrotum but at any point of its downward descent. Testicular or ovarian cysts can also exist and their diagnosis may require laparascopy. The twisting of the testicle or ovary constitutes an extreme emergency.
